| “There is an adage that the best sermons are not preached, they are lived. If you look at the life of Senator McCain you see a life of Courage, of Dedication, of Duty, of Honor, of Character, of Strength, of Patriotism; in a measure that is epic.” |

“On the question of Iraq, John McCain has had the guts to stand out on his own arguing for what he thought was right. And it turned out that he was right about the surge working to improve conditions in Iraq.” |

| Our political differences, now matter how sharply they are debated, are really quite narrow in comparison to the remarkably durable national consensus on our founding convictions. |

Recently, the President of the Philippines Gloria Macapagal Arroyo visited the United States. She has set a meeting with Barrack Hussein Obama but two days before the meeting Obama cancelled and offered her a letter and a telephone call. That converstaion is simply one-sided and a PR campaign talk for Obama. That is in huge contrast with John McCain, who took time-out in his busy schedule, to actually sit down and meet with President Arroyo.
Unlike Obama, John McCain actually knew the issues plauging the Philippines. A few weeks ago the Philippines had a high profile hostage crisis (a well known TV reporter) in Mindanao by known terrorist Abu Sayaff. In his dialogue with Prsident Arroyo they discussed pressing issues particularly Mindanao.

I applaud John McCain for actually sitting down and listening to the Philippine president.
